Herbal Medicine as Food

Food as Medicine

Herbal medicine is generally considered to have emerged long before acupuncture. The use of medicinal plants predates the specific techniques associated with acupuncture. Agriculture, farming and food was the original medicine. Modern people have become far too removed from this idea and it shows, especially in the types of conditions we see in clinical healthcare settings. Diet and lifestyle must be in balance or energy, structure and function will be out of balance, too. Herbs are extremely helpful especially for work-life stress causing internal issues in the areas of immunity, digestion, insomnia, depression, pain, and various other ailments. Herbal formulas come in a variety of forms such as pills, powders, tinctures, and teas to make them easy to take for just about anyone.
